  • 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour, plus more for hands and surface
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) olive oil, plus 2 teaspoons for brushing
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon garlic powder or 1 clove minced garlic, and/or 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Instructions

  • Whisk yeast, sugar, and warm water in a bowl. Let it sit until foamy.
  • Add flour, olive oil, salt, and any optional seasonings. Mix until combined.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for 6-8 minutes until soft and elastic.
  • Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 45 minutes.
  • Prepare your favorite toppings while the dough rises.
  • Preheat the oven to 475°F (246°C).
  • Punch down the dough, divide, and shape into desired thickness.
  • Poke holes in the dough, brush with olive oil, and add toppings.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes until crust is golden brown.
