- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- ½ teaspoon sea salt
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ cup cold butter, cubed
- ¼ cup shortening
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon whole milk
- 1 teaspoon lemon extract
- ½ cup white chocolate chips
- Sprinkles
- 2 cups confectioners' sugar
- 2 tablespoons whole milk
- ½ teaspoon lemon extract (or vanilla)
Instructions
- Combine dry ingredients in a food processor and pulse to mix.
- Add butter and shortening, pulse until crumbly.
- Whisk egg, milk, and lemon extract, add to the flour mixture and pulse until combined.
- Shape dough into a log, wrap, and chill.
- Roll out the chilled dough to ⅛”-¼” thickness and cut with a heart-shaped cookie cutter.
- Transfer cookies to a baking sheet and bake at 350°F for 6-8 minutes until golden.
- Prepare white chocolate for decoration and drizzle over cooled cookies.
- Optionally, mix confectioners' sugar, milk, and lemon extract for icing and decorate.
Notes
Chill the dough to maintain the cookie shape during baking.
Adjust dough thickness for desired cookie texture.
Substitute butter with coconut oil for a dairy-free version.
