  • 4 oz (113 g) cream cheese, cold
  • 2 cups (260 g) powdered sugar
  • Red food coloring (for decorative pink icing)
  • Valentine's Day sprinkles (for decorating)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare cake pans.
  • Mix dry ingredients in a bowl and set aside.
  • Cream together butter and sugar until fluffy.
  • Add eggs and vanilla, mixing until smooth.
  • Gradually incorporate dry ingredients and buttermilk.
  • Fold in red gel food coloring.
  • Divide batter between pans and bake for 26-29 minutes.
