- 1 cup oat milk (or non-dairy milk of choice)
- 3 teaspoons unsweetened cocoa powder (or cacao powder)
- 1 tablespoon chopped dark chocolate or chocolate chips
- 1–2 teaspoons pure maple syrup (plus more to taste)
- ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of sea salt
- Toppings: Coconut whip cream, vegan marshmallows, chocolate shavings, chocolate chips, or a dusting of cocoa powder
Instructions
- Combine oat milk, cocoa powder, dark chocolate, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and sea salt in a saucepan.
- Heat the mixture over low medium heat, stirring until just simmering and chocolate is melted, about 5-7 minutes.
- Pour into a mug and top with your choice of toppings.
Notes
Adjust sweetness by modifying the amount of maple syrup.
Oat milk is preferred, but almond or cashew milk can also be used.
Take your time heating to fully integrate flavors.
