- ¼ teaspoon almond extract
- 3 tablespoons sliced almonds
- Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350˚F (175˚C) and prepare an 8-inch cake pan.
- In a mixing bowl, combine almond flour, arrowroot starch, baking powder, baking soda, sea salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Grate apple and mix with eggs, honey, applesauce, vanilla, and almond extracts.
- Combine wet and dry mixtures, then pour into the prepared cake pan and top with sliced almonds.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until browned; let cool before removing from the pan.

Do not skip the almond extract for enhanced flavor.
