- 1 (12 count) package Hawaiian rolls
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup dark brown sugar, slightly packed
- 1 tbsp + 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup butter, softened (for spreading)
- 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1 1/4 cups powdered sugar
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Mix softened butter, dark brown sugar, and ground cinnamon in a bowl.
- Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half and spread half of the cinnamon mixture on the bottom halves.
- Spray a 9×7 inch baking dish and arrange the rolls inside.
- Cut a shallow X pattern on top of each roll.
- Dollop remaining cinnamon mixture on top and bake for about 20 minutes.
- While baking, mix the frosting ingredients until smooth.
- Frost the warm rolls after cooling for 5 minutes.
Notes
Ensure butter is softened for smooth filling and frosting.
Consider adding nuts to the filling for extra flavor.
