- 1 ½ cups cooked short grain rice or cooked jasmine rice
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- ½ teaspoon toasted sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds
- 1 tablespoon finely chopped green onion
- ½ teaspoon vegetable oil (or any neutral oil)
- Optional toppings: Kimchi, canned tuna, roasted seaweed flakes, avocado, sautéed carrots, spinach, zucchini, or other proteins
Instructions
- Combine hot cooked rice with butter in a bowl until well mixed.
- Heat vegetable oil in a pan and fry the egg sunny-side-up.
- Transfer buttered rice to a bowl and place the fried egg on top.
- Garnish with sesame seeds, drizzle with sesame oil, add green onions, and pour soy sauce.
- Mix before serving to blend flavors and enjoy!
Notes
Ensure your rice is hot when mixing with butter for best flavor.
