- 1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 1/2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt (or to taste)
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Freshly ground black pepper (to taste)
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 cloves garlic (grated or minced)
- 1/2 of a lemon (juiced)
- 2–3 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
- Chopped flat-leaf parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cut chicken into 1-inch pieces and place in a mixing bowl.
- Season the chicken with salt, black pepper, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes.
- Preheat a skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil.
- Add chicken to the skillet in a single layer and cook without stirring for 3-4 minutes.
- Flip the chicken and continue cooking until browned but not fully cooked.
- Add butter and minced garlic, tossing until chicken is coated and cooked through.
- Squeeze lemon juice into the skillet, sprinkle parmesan, and garnish with parsley.
Notes
Make sure the skillet is hot before adding chicken for the best sear.
Avoid overcrowding the skillet; cook in batches if necessary.
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
