Instructions
- Rinse, dry, and pit the cherries.
- Mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Prepare egg wash by whisking egg, cold water, and salt.
- Roll out the puff pastry into a square and cut into squares.
- Assemble by placing cream cheese mixture and cherries on pastry squares.
- Chill pastries in the freezer for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (210°C).
- Bake pastries for about 25 minutes until golden.
- Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve.
Notes
Keep puff pastry cold for better flakiness.
Adjust sweetness of cream cheese filling to match cherry tartness.
