  • 1 cup butter-flavored Crisco

  • 56 tablespoons cold water
  • 6 yellow delicious apples (peeled, cored, and sliced)
  • 1 can frozen apple juice concentrate (thawed)
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F.
  • Mix flour, Crisco, and salt until crumbly.
  • Add cold water gradually to form dough.
  • Roll out dough for bottom and top crusts.
  • Place bottom crust in pie pan.
  • Prepare apple filling by mixing apples with juice concentrate, cornstarch, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  • Pour filling into the bottom crust.
  • Top with the second crust and seal edges.
  • Make slits in the top crust for ventilation.
  • Bake at 400°F for 15 minutes, then reduce to 350°F for 30 minutes.
