- 1 tablespoon bottled lemon juice
- 1 ½ cups brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
- ¼ teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Peel, core, and cut pears into quarters, tossing with lemon juice.
- Place pears into the slow cooker with brown sugar, spice, and salt.
- Cook on LOW for 7-8 hours or HIGH for 4-5 hours, stirring halfway.
- Blend or mash the mixture until desired smoothness.
- Prepare jars and water bath for canning, process for 10 minutes.
- Check seals after 24 hours and store properly.
Notes
Use ripe pears for the best flavor.
Adjust brown sugar to taste preference.
Stir halfway during cooking for even consistency.
