- 14 ounces firm tofu (or extra firm)
- ¼ cup cornstarch
- Salt & pepper to taste
- 3 tablespoons oil
- 3 cups chopped broccoli
- ⅓ cup water
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon mirin
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- ¼ teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (plus more for topping)
Instructions
- Press the tofu to remove moisture, then mix cornstarch, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Prepare the teriyaki sauce by mixing water, soy sauce, brown sugar, mirin, cornstarch, garlic, and ginger.
- Slice tofu and coat with cornstarch mixture.
- Heat oil in a pan, stir-fry broccoli for 5 minutes, then set aside.
- Cook tofu in the same pan until golden and crispy, about 8-10 minutes.
- Add broccoli back in, pour sauce over, and stir for about a minute until thickened.
- Serve over rice and garnish with sesame seeds.
Notes
Use firm or extra-firm tofu for the best texture.
Experiment with different vegetables for added variety.
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
