Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your baking dish.
- Melt butter in a saucepan and sauté garlic until fragrant.
- Whisk flour into the butter, then slowly add hot milk, stirring until it thickens.
- Incorporate pumpkin puree and adjust seasoning.
- Layer sliced potatoes in the baking dish, sprinkle with salt and pepper.
- Pour half the pumpkin sauce over the potatoes and sprinkle half of the cheese.
- Repeat layering with remaining potatoes, sauce, and cheese.
- Cover with foil and bake for approximately 45 minutes.
- Broil for a few minutes until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
- Let it cool slightly before serving.
