- 4 cups (500 g) all-purpose flour, divided, plus more if needed
- 2 envelopes (about 4 ½ teaspoons) rapid-rise yeast
- ¼ cup (50 g) granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 ½ cups (366 g) whole milk, warmed (110°F-115°F)
- 1 large egg, room temperature, beaten
- 1 tablespoon fresh garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh chives, minced
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1 recipe Cowboy Butter, melted
Instructions
- Combine 3 cups flour, yeast, sugar, and salt in a stand mixer bowl.
- Warm milk to 110°F-115°F and add to the flour mixture with the beaten egg.
- Knead and gradually add remaining flour along with garlic and chives.
- Transfer dough to a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 45 minutes.
- Prep a baking dish with nonstick spray.
- Punch down dough, divide into 12 pieces, and shape into balls.
- Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Brush dough balls with egg wash.
- Bake for 18-22 minutes until golden brown.
- Brush with melted Cowboy Butter immediately after baking.
Notes
Ensure milk is at the right temperature to activate the yeast.
Avoid over-flouring the dough to maintain its soft texture.
