Ingredients

  • 16 oz Mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 3 tbsp white granulated sugar (for whipping cream)
  • 1/2 cup white granulated sugar (for egg yolks)
  • 6 large egg yolks
  • 2 tbsp Amaretto liqueur
  • 10 oz hard Ladyfingers cookies
  • 1 1/2 cups cold espresso
  • 2 tbsp Cocoa Powder (for dusting)

Instructions

  • Beat heavy cream with sugar until stiff peaks form; refrigerate.
  • Combine egg yolks and sugar in a double boiler, whisk until thick.
  • Stir in Amaretto, then fold in mascarpone and whipped cream.
  • Dip ladyfingers in espresso and arrange in a baking dish.
  • Layer half of the mascarpone mixture over ladyfingers, then the rest of the dipped ladyfingers.
  • Top with remaining mascarpone mixture and dust with cocoa powder.
  • Chill for at least 6 hours, preferably overnight.

Notes

Use quality espresso for the best flavor.
Allow plenty of refrigeration time for flavor melding.
Ensure whipped cream is well whipped for optimal texture.
