Instructions

  • Combine warm milk, yeast, and 1 tablespoon sugar; let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  • Mix flour, remaining sugar, and salt in a large bowl.
  • Add yeast mixture, melted butter, and egg; stir to form dough.
  • Knead dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes or in a stand mixer for 5-7 minutes.
  • Let dough rise in a greased bowl for about 1 hour.
