- 2 TBSP Brown sugar (packed, light or dark)
- 1 Large egg (room temperature)
- 1 tsp Pure vanilla extract
- 1 cup Unsalted butter (slightly cold)
- 1 TBSP Pure vanilla extract
- 3 cups Powdered sugar (sifted)
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 3 TBSP Heavy cream
- Extra sprinkles for topping
Instructions
- Sift together all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and Christmas sprinkles.
- Beat unsalted butter, white granulated sugar, and brown sugar until creamy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients carefully to avoid overmixing.
- Chill the dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare baking sheets.
- Scoop and roll the dough into balls, placing them on baking sheets.
- Bake for 13-15 minutes until edges are golden.
- Cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
- Prepare whipped frosting by beating softened butter and gradually adding sifted powdered sugar.
- Mix in vanilla extract, salt, and heavy cream until fluffy.
- Frost cooled cookies and add extra sprinkles.
Notes
Ensure butter is at the right temperature for proper texture.
Don’t overcrowd cookie sheets for the best results.
Experiment with different sprinkles for a festive look.
