Instructions
- Whisk together flour, salt, and baking powder in a bowl.
- Cream softened butter and sugar in a stand mixer until light and fluffy.
- Add egg and vanilla, and mix until combined.
- Fold in dry ingredients until just combined.
- Divide the dough in half.
- Add red gel food coloring to one half and mix well.
- Chill the dough for 30 minutes wrapped in plastic.
- Roll out both pieces of dough between parchment paper.
- Layer the red dough on the white dough and roll them into a log.
- Coat the log with sprinkles and slice into 1/3-inch cookies.
- Refrigerate for 30 minutes before baking.
- Bake at 350°F for 8-10 minutes until lightly golden.
- Cool on a wire rack before serving.
Notes
Use room temperature butter for easy mixing.
Chill the dough completely to avoid spreading while baking.
Adjust food coloring based on desired vibrancy.
