  • ¾ cup whole milk or 2% milk
  • ½ cup dark chocolate chips
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 4 tbsp whole or 2% milk
  • ¼ tsp peppermint extract
  • 1 tbsp Greek yogurt
  • 3 tbsp crushed candy canes

Instructions

  • Beat together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until creamy.
  • Mix in baking powder, baking soda, espresso powder, salt, and cocoa powder.
  • Add eggs one at a time and then the peppermint extract, mixing until smooth.
  • Gradually alternate adding flour and milk until fully incorporated.
  • Fold in dark chocolate chips gently.
  • Prepare the loaf pan and pour the batter in.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 50 to 60 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Let cool, then prepare the frosting and spread it on top.
  • Decorate with crushed candy canes before serving.
