  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ½ cups (186g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cups (255g) semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F and prepare a 9×13” metal pan with foil and cooking spray.
  • Melt unsweetened baking chocolate and unsalted butter in a microwave-safe bowl.
  • Stir in granulated sugar, then add eggs one at a time. Mix in vanilla, salt, and cocoa powder.
  • Fold in all-purpose flour until just combined.
  • For the cookie dough, cream melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar.
  • Add egg and vanilla extract, then mix in baking soda, salt, and all-purpose flour.
  • Fold in chocolate chips.
  • Spread brownie batter in prepared pan, then layer cookie dough on top.
  • Bake for 28-35 minutes until the top is dark golden.
  • Serve warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream or chocolate sauce.
