Cheesy Bread

Cheesy Bread is an easy treat made with pizza dough, topped with mozzarella and parmesan. It’s warm, comforting, and perfect for sharing at any occasion.

  • Total Time: 32 minutes
  • Yield: Serves 4-6 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup warm water (aim for 107-110°F)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast (1/2 packet)
  • 1/2 tablespoon honey or sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt (use less if using table salt)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 1/2 cups bread flour (adjust based on humidity)
  • 3 tablespoons butter (salted, melted)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese (shredded)
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese (freshly grated)
  • 1 tablespoon basil (fresh, chopped, or parsley, for garnish)
  • 1 cup pizza sauce (warmed, or marinara)

Instructions

  • Activate the yeast by mixing warm water, yeast, and honey; let it rest until bubbles form.
  • Add salt, olive oil, and half the flour to the yeast mixture and stir until combined.
  • Gradually add the remaining flour and knead until the dough is smooth and slightly tacky.
  • Let the dough rise in a greased bowl, covered, until doubled in size.
  • Preheat the oven to 475°F and prepare the baking surface.
  • Mix melted butter, garlic, and Italian seasoning; brush onto the dough.
  • Shape the dough into a 10-inch circle and transfer to the baking surface.
  • Top with garlic butter, mozzarella, and parmesan cheese.
  • Bake for 9 to 12 minutes until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  • Garnish with basil, cool slightly, and slice for serving.

Notes

Ensure warm water is at the right temperature for yeast activation.
Do not rush the dough rising process to develop flavor and texture.
Feel free to experiment with different cheeses and toppings.
