- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound smoked sausage such as kielbasa, sliced
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1/2 cup onion chopped
- 1 tablespoon garlic minced
- 4 cups cabbage coarsely chopped
- 1 1/2 teaspoons cajun seasoning
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium high heat. Add the sausage and cook until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Remove the sausage from the pan and cover to keep warm.
- Melt the butter in the same pan, then add the chopped onion and cook for 5 minutes until softened.
- Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
- Incorporate the coarsely chopped cabbage, Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper into the pan.
- Cook for 8-10 minutes until the cabbage is wilted, then stir in the sausage and heat for 1 more minute.
- Sprinkle with parsley before serving.
Notes
Feel free to add other vegetables like bell peppers or carrots for more flavor.
This dish is best served warm and can be enjoyed as a main course or a side dish.
