- ¾ cup (170g) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 ¼ cup (250g) packed brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 cups (248g) all-purpose flour
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, cream butter and brown sugar until smooth and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla, mixing until incorporated.
- In another bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture, stirring until combined.
- Drop rounded dough balls onto prepared baking sheets, leaving space in between.
- Bake for 10-13 minutes until edges are golden and centers are slightly soft.
- Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For best results, ensure butter is softened at room temperature.
These cookies can be made gluten-free using a gluten-free flour blend.
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
