  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups (248g) all-purpose flour

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, cream butter and brown sugar until smooth and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla, mixing until incorporated.
  • In another bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture, stirring until combined.
  • Drop rounded dough balls onto prepared baking sheets, leaving space in between.
  • Bake for 10-13 minutes until edges are golden and centers are slightly soft.
  • Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For best results, ensure butter is softened at room temperature.
These cookies can be made gluten-free using a gluten-free flour blend.
