  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Cilantro, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Chili Powder
  • 1 tablespoon Cumin Powder
  • ½ teaspoon Salt (or to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Black Pepper
  • Water (for sealing the pastel edges)
  • Oil for frying (Soybean Oil recommended)

Instructions

  • Sift the all-purpose flour into a bowl and make a well.
  • Add egg yolk and butter, mix in water gradually until combined.
  • Knead the dough for about 4-5 minutes, cover, and let it rest for 1 hour.
  • Cook ground beef in olive oil, add spices, and let the mixture cool.
  • Roll out the dough and cut into squares.
  • Fill each square with beef mixture, seal edges with water, and crimp.
  • Heat oil to 360°F-375°F and fry pastels until golden brown.
