- 1 1/2 cups Apple Cider
- 2 cups Cake Flour
- 2 tsp Baking Powder
- 1 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1/4 tsp Nutmeg
- 1/2 cup Milk
- 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
- 1/4 cup Sugar
- 1 Egg
- 2 tbsp Butter, Melted
- 2 tsp Vanilla
- 1 cup Sugar (for coating)
- 2 tsp Cinnamon (for coating)
- 1/2 cup Butter, Melted (for coating)
Instructions
- Bring apple cider to a boil in a saucepan for 1 minute.
- Reduce cider to about 1/2 cup by simmering for approximately 15 minutes.
- Let the reduced cider cool completely.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and spray a donut pan with non-stick spray.
- Whisk together dry ingredients in a bowl.
- Combine wet ingredients in another bowl.
- Mix wet and dry ingredients until just combined.
- Fill donut molds about three-quarters full with batter.
- Bake for about 8 minutes until lightly golden.
- Prepare melted butter and cinnamon sugar for coating.
- Dip baked donuts in melted butter and then coat with cinnamon sugar.
Notes
Use fresh apple cider for the best flavor.
Avoid overmixing the batter for optimal texture.
