- 3 pitted dates
- 1 ounce semi-sweet chocolate
- ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ⅓ cup nondairy milk (coconut, almond, etc.)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1–2 tablespoons maple syrup, honey, or agave (optional for sweetness)
Instructions
- Peel and pit the avocados, placing the flesh in a food processor.
- Add pitted dates and pulse until blended.
- Melt the semi-sweet chocolate in a microwave and let it cool slightly.
- Combine melted chocolate, cocoa powder, nondairy milk, vanilla extract, and salt in the food processor.
- Blend until smooth, scraping down the sides as needed.
- Chill in the refrigerator for a few hours to enhance texture.
Notes
Use ripe avocados for optimal creaminess.
Adjust sweetness per your preference using honey or maple syrup.
Can be prepared a day ahead for convenience.
