Ingredients

  • 1 package Rapid Rise Instant Active Dry Yeast
  • 1.5 teaspoons raw sugar
  • 13/4 cup lukewarm water
  • 1 cup extra virgin olive oil (divided)
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups asiago cheese
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary and herbs

Instructions

  • Combine yeast, lukewarm water, and sugar in a large bowl. Let sit until foamy.
  • Add flour, ½ cup olive oil, and sea salt to the yeast mixture. Blend into a soft dough.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for 1-2 minutes until smooth.
  • Drizzle olive oil in a bowl, place dough in it, cover, and let rise for 1 hour until doubled.
  • Divide dough, add remaining asiago cheese, and place in oiled pans.
  • Press dough into pans, cover, and allow to rise again for another hour.
  • Preheat oven to 425°F. Sprinkle sea salt and drizzle olive oil on top before baking.
  • Bake for 10 minutes, add remaining asiago cheese, and bake for another 10-12 minutes until golden.

Notes

Use lukewarm water for effective yeast activation.
Knead gently to ensure the dough remains light and airy.
Let the dough rise in a warm, draft-free location.
