Ingredients
Scale
- 1 bottle (750 mL) chilled unoaked Chardonnay
- 2 cups fresh-pressed apple cider (not apple juice)
- ½ cup bourbon
- 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon orange bitters (like Fee Brothers)
- 2 medium-sized firm, tart-sweet apples
- 6 sprigs fresh thyme (plus extra for garnish)
- 2 bottles (12 ounces each) chilled Angry Orchard 'Crisp Cider' hard cider
Instructions
- Combine Chardonnay, apple cider, bourbon, lemon juice, and orange bitters in a large pitcher.
- Thinly slice the apples, leaving the peel on, and add to the pitcher.
- Gently add fresh thyme to the mixture.
- Chill in the refrigerator for 2 to 4 hours.
- Before serving, stir in chilled hard cider, taste, and adjust ingredients.
- Serve over crushed ice, garnished with apple slices and thyme.
Notes
Use good-quality Chardonnay for better flavor.
Fresh-pressed apple cider enhances the drink; avoid apple juice.
Chill longer for better infusion but add hard cider just before serving.
