- 2–½ cups water
- 1 cup fresh apple cider
- 2 to 4 tablespoons maple syrup (optional)
- 2 sweet apples, cored and diced
- ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
- 2 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Cream for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Combine water, apple cider, maple syrup (if using), diced apples, and kosher salt in a medium pot. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Reduce heat to medium-low and stir in rolled oats and ground cinnamon until well combined.
- Cook and stir until the mixture thickens and oats are tender, about 3 to 5 minutes.

Notes
Use fresh apples like Honeycrisp or Fuji for the best flavor.
Adjust maple syrup based on your sweetness preference.
For creamier oatmeal, add more apple cider or water during cooking.
